Due to Expansion, we currently have vacancies at GAME Engineering for the following:
Project Draughtsperson
As a project draughtsperson, you will assist in carrying out a wide variety of prison/security projects.
Your routine duties will vary, but are likely to include:
- Production of sales and manufacturing drawings from information supplied by project engineers, sales and clients.
- Maintenance of Drawing Office records, including the Suppliers Library
- Liaison with customers, colleagues, contractors and suppliers as required.
- Supplying information to customers in the relevant format in a concise and timely manner
- Ensuring a project is fit-for-purpose and adheres to the project budget and schedule.
- Interpreting clients' requirements, identifying and addressing design parameters and engineering problems and ensuring solutions are implemented.
- Evaluating, organising and prioritising work within the overall project schedule.
- Liaising and overseeing sub-contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.
You will work as part of the project management team. How much responsibility you have will depend on your experience.
Your working week will be 0800 – 1700 Monday to Friday, with some out of hours working required very occasionally.
Your time will be split between the office and visiting sites. Site visits would be in all weathers and may involve extensive travel.
To be a successful project draughtsperson, you would ideally need:
- Excellent maths, science, and IT skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Good team-working skills
- Confident decision-making ability
- Extensive draughting experience using AutoCad, with Solid Works 3D being a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management skills
- The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines
- Patience and the ability to deal with people
- Worked within medium/small engineering businesses
- Versatile to be able to work on several projects in a short period
- Thorough, rapid and methodical
- Full clean driving licence required
Whilst you will have experience of a similar role, you will receive specific training on the job.
Successful candidates must pass a CRB/MOJ vetting clearance for Custodial Establishments prior to confirmation of any employment.
Pay Scale £25K to £30K

This position would suit candidates from a background and experience in similar construction or engineering roles.
The key duties will include: -
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Working on Projects of up to £2 million
- Assisting Sales Engineers and having the confidence to engineer a project from concept to completion
- Ability to produce Flowplans, Layout Designs, Detailed Manufacturing and Installation Drawings
- Capable of working under pressure and to deadlines
- The ability to work individually and as part of a team
- To be self motivated, dealing with a variety of Projects
- To ensure Projects are completed on Schedule and on Budget
- Confidence to develop the role
A AutoCAD Draughtperson is required for a busy Engineering Office.
The key duties will include: -
- Producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Extracting information from architects schedules.
- Building plans & schematic drawings in line with Home Office standards.
