Health & safety

In any organisation, Health and Safety management must start at the top. The commitment of the Directors must be visible and obvious to all employees and that is why at GAME our Directors and Senior Managers have all attended an IOSH Safety for Senior Executives course to ensure that they are fully aware of the duties and responsibilities that are inherent in their roles.

Through their influence and the policies of the company, Health and Safety management is introduced to all projects at the concept stage and thereafter goes hand in hand with value and quality engineering.

Throughout projects a continual all-risks assessment and analysis approach is adopted, which starts with an initial project risk assessment to identify key risk areas (whether they be commercial, safety, health, environmental etc.). The necessary control measures and subsequent actions can then be identified and will cascade down through the project teams and be implemented to suit the needs of the project.

GAME Engineering Ltd work within a diverse range of industry sectors providing engineering, manufacture and installation services for:

  • HM Prisons & YOI
  • Immigration Removal Centres
  • Police
  • Customs & Excise/Crown Prosecution Services
  • Secure Hospitals
  • Banks/Cash Houses
  • Turf Accountants
  • Enhanced Residential Security

Although the underlying Health and Safety philosophies and principles are the same, the presentation requirements of different industry sectors vary considerably and as we are all aware, the situation can change daily at the sharp end. This is why we maintain a flexible approach to the management of Health and Safety.

When our installation teams arrive on your site, they will have an installation file containing all of the pre-start identified Health and Safety information including risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, safe systems of work, previously identified and also each operative will carry his own safety pack with additional hazard information, his training certification and required codes of practice and conduct.

Once the installation phase is underway, support and advice are never far away from the installation teams and further risk assessments and safe systems of work are identified, agreed recorded and communicated as the project progresses. Competence and control from start to finish.

As a typical cross section, besides trade and professional qualifications, our personnel have the following safety and competence training which we actively maintain:

  • NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Advisor
  • CPCS Appointed Persons (lifting operations) to manage our own crane lifts
  • SMSTS (5 day) qualified Project Managers
  • CITB Site Safety Plus qualified Supervisors
  • CSCS cards for all site operatives
  • CCNSG Safety Passports
  • CPCS qualified Telehandler drivers
  • Rigging, slinging and banksman training
  • IPAF licences (access platforms)
  • PASMA (portable scaffolds)
  • 3/4 day first aid training
  • CHAS accreditation

Back this up with our commitment to continual improvement and the level of support and advice that our site teams can call upon, and we will offer a service that you can rely on to get the job done safely, on time and at cost.
